Achieving Perfectly Cooked Ribs: Low Temperature + Indirect Heat. It takes a lot of effort to cook ribs, but they are a popular side dish at any backyard barbecue. A properly tender and delicious rib must be cooked at a low temperature. Grilling ribs at 200 degrees for 6-8 hours is a great way to prepare aSucculent dinner. Grill/smoker’s egg at 300 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, and a big green egg should be prepared at 325 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Grill grate should be coated in heavy duty aluminum foil. Place ribs meaty side up. Turn off the heat, wrap the ribs in foil, and cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour on the foil or until done. If making ahead, cool to room temperature. Once cool, refrigerate until ready to serve. When you're ready to eat, preheat the BBQ grill to a medium-high heat. Coat one side of the ribs with BBQ sauce. Place on the grill, sauce side down, and grill for 3 minutes. Coat the other side with BBQ sauce, flip, and grill for a 3 minutes. Sprinkle the rub generously onto both sides of the ribs, making sure to coat every nook and cranny. The rub will add flavor and create a delectable crust as the ribs grill. Grill the Spare Ribs. Place the seasoned ribs on the preheated gas grill bone-side down. Close the lid and let them cook for about 1.5 to 2 hours. 4. Indirect Grilling Method. To cook beef ribs on a gas grill, it’s best to use the indirect grilling method. This technique involves placing the ribs away from the direct heat source to avoid charring or overcooking them. Turn off the burners on one side of the grill, and place the ribs on that side. Baby Back Ribs. Coat both sides of the racks with the dry rub. Rub the seasonings into the meat. Cut 8 sections of foil approximately 15 inches by 18 inches. (or if you’re using the 12-inch roll of foil, make the sections 12 inches by 15 inches) Wrap each section in one piece of foil, tucking the end pieces in to make a package. Place ribs on a foil-lined tray, the meaty side down, and cover with sliced onion and garlic. Cover & seal with another piece of foil. Bake ribs for 2 hours. Carefully open the corner of the sealed foil and pull a small piece of meat off to ensure the ribs are tender. If not, bake another 20-30 minutes and check again. Cook ribs for 30 minutes at 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove your ribs from the grill and place them on a sheet of aluminum foil. Tip-up the edges of the foil to create a makeshift dish. Pour apple juice over the ribs and wrap tightly in the aluminum foil. Place the wrapped ribs back on the grill and close the lid. AvZN.
